Choosing a Location
There are plenty of awesome locations in the Newport/Rhode Island Area, but we can narrow it down based on what kind of scenery you’d like to have! We've posted quite a few of them on our blog as well! These are some of the places that we love to shoot at:
Fort AdamsRoger
Williams Botanical Gardens
Fort Wetherill
40 Steps/Cliff Walk
Second Beach
Lincoln Woods
Brenton Point
Colt State Park
Chase Farm
Duxbury Beach
The Block Island Bluffs
Saint Lucy Vincent Beach
Horseneck Beach
Charlestown Breachway
Waterplace Park
Watch Hill Beach
West Greenwich Sand Dunes
Elephant Rock
Tower Hill Botanicals
Can We Do Multiple Locations?
Usually one location has multiple settings to take advantage of, so no two photos will look exactly the same! For a one hour engagement session, it's better to keep it simple rather than driving around to hit two or three stops. We've found that staying in one location leads to better photos and more photos! This way, both you and your photographer will have the time to get comfortable instead of having to rush to the next location! However, if you've booked a two hour engagement session with us, we'll have more time to explore and would actually recommend checking out a second location! (Side Note: If you'd like to extend your engagement session to two hours, just let us know!)
Should we do an outfit change?
In order to maximize your time with your photographer, we'd recommend sticking to one outfit on the day of your engagement session! But similarly to above, if you have a two hour engagement session this gives you guys some more time to change things up a bit and throw on a second outfit!
Best Times to Shoot
As natural light enthusiasts we love to shoot about 1 hour before sunset. However, if we are shooting indoors it's better to shoot much earlier than this! We typically like to shoot on weekdays, since our weekends tend to be stacked up with weddings!
